ChemInform Abstract: A Novel Synthetic Route to 2‐Aryl‐2H‐benzotriazole 1‐Oxides.

Abstract: The formanilides (I) are deprotonated with sodium hydride (II) or potassium hydroxide to generate the sodium (III) or potassium salts which are heated with benzofuroxan (IV), producing the 2‐arylbenzotriazole 1‐oxides (V).
