Abstract: Crystal Structure of K 2 [C 2 O 6 ] -First Proof of Existence and Constitution of a Peroxodicarbonate Ion.-Light blue powder of the title compound is synthesized by anodic oxidation of a saturated aqueous solution of K 2 CO 3 at -20 • C. As revealed by powder XRD, K 2 [C 2 O 6 ] crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /c with Z = 4 and contains the fully deprotonated peroxodicarbonate anion.
