Abstract

Pyridine Moiety. -A variety of heterocycles containing the pyridine moiety is prepared starting from (IV) and (IX). Some of them are evaluated for their antibacterial and antiviral activities. (VII) and (IX) show promising antiviral activity towards rotavirus Wa strain and adenovirus type 7 and possess antibacterial effect towards S. aureus and E. coli. -(SALEM*, M. S.; SAKR, S.
