Circ_0058063 contributes to oral squamous cell carcinoma development by sponging miR‐145‐5p and upregulating SERPINE1

Abstract: Background: We aimed to demonstrate the effects circ_0058063 exerted on oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and its downstream mechanism associated with miR-145-5p and SERPINE1. Methods:The relevant contents of miR-145-5p, circ 0058063, and SERPINE1 mRNAs in OSCC were evaluated using quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Functional experiments including CCK-8, Transwell, Western blot, and in vivo experiment were implemented to investigate the biological impacts on OSCC cells. Using dual… Show more

“…This research has demonstrated that other circular RNAs such as circ_GOLPH3 and circ_0001461 function to inhibit miR-145 as well as to inhibit additional downstream targets, such as KDM2 and NFkB [58,59]. Finally, many other circular RNAs, including circ_0058063 and circ_0033144, may function in concert with additional axis factors to inhibit miR-145 while upregulating other downstream targets, such as SERPINE1 and LASP1 [60,61].…”

“…To illustrate the capabilities of BCMCMI, we conducted a case study. Through the combination with targeted genes, has-miR-145-5p regulates various biological processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion. , In various cancers, has-miR-145-5p plays an important inhibitory role, which can inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion of tumor cells and promote cell apoptosis . Therefore, has-miR-145-5p is considered a potential anticancer therapeutic target.…”

“…[ 33 ] Besides, circ‐ITCH has an inhibitory effect on ESCC. [ 34 ] Circ_0058063 is produced by the 5‐aminoimidazole‐4‐carboxamide ribonucleotide transformylase/inosine monophosphate cyclohydrolase (ATIC) gene and exerts a promoting function in several cancers, such as multiple myeloma, [ 35 ] thyroid cancer, [ 36 ] oral squamous‐cell carcinoma [ 37 ] and bladder cancer. [ 38 ] Zheng et al uncovered that circ_0058063 facilitated ESCC cell proliferation and elevated glucose uptake by upregulating glucose transporter type 1.…”
