Clinical Efficacy of Single-Port Thoracoscopic Lobectomy versus Three-Port Thoracoscopic Lobectomy for Lung Cancer

Abstract: Objective. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of single-port thoracoscopic lobectomy versus three-port thoracoscopic lobectomy for lung cancer. Methods. From February 2020 to February 2021, 200 lung cancer patients treated in our institution assessed for eligibility were enrolled and randomly assigned (1 : 1) to either the experimental group (single-port thoracoscopic lobectomy) or the control group (three-port thoracoscopic lobectomy). The outcomes were the eligible patients’ surgical indices, pain stress inde… Show more

“…Clinically, three-hole thoracoscopic lobectomy could remove the focus and gave play to the therapeutic effect [ 14 ]. In recent years, the technology of single-port thoracoscopic lobectomy had gradually matured, and many explorations have also confirmed the feasibility of single-port thoracoscopic segmentectomy [ 15 ]. In terms of operation time, postoperative extubation time, and complication rate, single-port thoracoscopic surgery is safe and reliable [ 16 ].…”

“…SILS is an important branch of laparoscopic technology that has been performed in almost every field of surgery, such as general surgery, gynecology, urology, and thoracic [ 4 , 5 ]. SILS offers potential benefits over conventional laparoscopic surgery, including a reduced risk of trocar-related complications, reduced postoperative pain, and improved convalescence and cosmetic results [ 17 19 ].…”

“…However, combining a challenging resection and multiple anastomoses remains a technical difficulty. Single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) has been widely used in gynecological and thoracic surgery with many benefits, including a reduced risk of trocar-related complications, reduced postoperative pain, and improved convalescence and cosmetic results [ 4 , 5 ]. However, only a few single-incision LPD (SILPD) cases have been described [ 6 ].…”
