“…Interestingly, although MIAs showed a similar EGFR-mutation frequency with other invasive non-mucinous adenocarcinomas, a lower frequency was noted in AIS (63.2% vs. 35.3%). This tendency was also reported in other studies, as well as our previous report [24][25][26]. Additionally, in the present study, we identified preferential occurrence of the Exon19del mutation as compared with the L858R mutation in micropapillary predominant adenocarcinomas (44.2% vs. 21.2%) and preferential occurrence of L858R to Exon19del in lepidic adenocarcinomas (33.8% vs. 21.2%) (Fig.…”

“…This study confirmed that the overall incidence of postoperative VTE was 6.7%, which is similar to the incidence of VTE after lung resection for benign lesions (7%) in our previous study (5). Many previous studies have confirmed that AIS mostly appears as pure ground-glass opacities (p-GGOs) on imaging (15)(16)(17). In recent years, the widespread promotion and application of low-dose chest computed tomography (CT) has facilitated the detection of pulmonary nodules in many asymptomatic individuals.…”

“…For nodules diagnosed as MIA, there has been controversy in surgical procedure selection [ 8 , 9 ]. Nevertheless, a latest long-term follow-up study revealed that lobectomy was accomplished in 72.3% of patients with MIA, and recurrence was witnessed in patients with MIA (9.7%) but not in patients with AIS [ 10 ], indicating different intervention methods and prognosis for these two categories. Therefore, it is of great importance to distinguish preinvasive lesions (AAH and AIS) from invasive ones (MIA and IA), for it could potentially influence the treatment plan and follow-up schedule of the patients.…”
