“…Bodnar et al reported higher MVD values in a group of patients with laryngeal cancers [23]. Zvrko et al reported results similar to our findings among patients with glottis and epiglottis cancers [24, 25]. However, Martone et al, Shimming et al, and Chien et al reported lower MVD values [14, 17, 26].…”

“…Since SCCs arising from different regions of the larynx differ in their typical clinical behaviour, the research group at the Montenegro Clinical Centre in Podgorica recently investigated CD105 expression specifically in supraglottic (47) and glottic (48) SCCs. In the supraglottic series (47), CD105‐assessed MVD was determined in 40 samples drawn from completely resected tumours: statistical analysis showed a significant correlation between a high CD105‐assessed MVD and pN+ category, advanced stage (III and IV) and loco‐regional recurrence; a high CD105‐assessed MVD was the only independent marker of recurrent disease.…”

“…its gene is located on chromosome 9q34 (17). recent investigations have found that in different tumors, MTa1 protein significantly correlates with tumor angiogenesis, suggesting MTa1 may be a possible angiogenesis-promoting molecule in malignant tumors (4,14,15,16,17). accordingly, the present study aimed to determine the role of MTa1 protein in the biologic behavior of oral SCC and its relation with tumor angiogenesis.…”
