“…Overexpression of PeXTH from Populus euphratica in tobacco plants increased their capacity for salt and Cd tolerance [ 31 , 32 ]. Overexpression of XTH from rose ( Rosa rugosa ) enhanced drought resistance in transgenic plants [ 33 ]. The T-DNA insertion mutants xth31 , xth17 and xth15 were more aluminum resistant than the wild type in Arabidopsis [ 34 ].…”

“…For example, overexpression of HvXTH1 in barley resulted in the enlargement of the stomata of transgenic plants relative to those of WT plants under drought treatment, indicating that transgenic plants were more drought tolerant ( Fu, 2019 ). Overexpression of XTH genes from rose ( Rosa rugosa ) increased the drought tolerance of transgenic China rose plants ( Chen et al., 2016 ). In addition, the presence of xyloglucan in early land plants suggests that XTH gene family members have played a key role in the transition from wetter to drier habitats ( Popper, 2008 ).…”

“…In this study, co-culture for 3 days had the best effect. We choose 8 mg/L hygromycin, the same as the previous study in Rosa chinensis ( Chen et al, 2016 ). In the early stage after A. tumefaciens , selected high Hygromycin concentration (50 mg/L) to suppress the excessive growth of A. tumefaciens on the callus surface, and the low hygromycin concentration (20 mg/L) did not affect the growth of rose plants in the later stage ( Liu et al, 2021 ).…”
