Colorimetric Detection of Some Highly Hydrophobic Flavonoids Using Polydiacetylene Liposomes Containing Pentacosa-10,12-diynoyl Succinoglycan Monomers

Abstract: Flavonoids are a group of plant secondary metabolites including polyphenolic molecules, and they are well known for antioxidant, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral propertied. In general, flavonoids are detected with various non-colorimetric detection methods such as column liquid chromatography, thin-layer chromatography, and electrochemical analysis. For the first time, we developed a straightforward colorimetric detection system allowing recognition of some highly hydrophobic flavonoids such as… Show more

“…8F ). Although the guest is captured by the β-CD cavity, the simple binding event cannot affect the pi orbital twist on the PDA array and thereby cannot generate any response of the vesicle 38 . Accordingly, we have designed the channel on the PDA array, and the incorporated cationic amino acids induce the triggering of the ene-yne backbone via a strong electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bonds.…”
