Contruction of colorimeter and calibrationare presented in this paper. In this investigation involves design, detection system, and measurement.Colorimeter was fabricated in dimension (10 x 10 x 6)cm3 consist of light source, modular data, and transducer. The light sources were LEDs which responds of wavelength peak at 467 nm on 0,141 W/m2. Arduino Uno R3 is used to data tabulation in calculate absorbance system with 1.8.5 sofware. Then transducer was used a LDR which useful for consider the light in sample and reference. The calibration curve of ammonium consentration shows linierity range at 0.1 to 2 ppm with y = 0.0234x + 0.0905, R= 0.9716. The portable colorimeter was found accuration and precision about 88,7 % and 99,8%. the portabel colorimeter gives the best result in this investigation and use to fake manure detector in Agricultural application for domestic farmer.

Food based on cereals especially the flour as an end product has been frequently consumed all over the world. Different types of commercially available flour (wheat, oat, corn, rye, integral rye flour) were tested for several characteristics such as magnetic, microscopic, testing of carbonates in flour with hydrochloric acid and oxalic acid, determination of gluten content, pH value, moisture content, foam capacity, flour colour analysis and FT-IR analysis. The microscopic analysis with an optical microscope showed the structural properties of each flour type. The results show that colour indexes represented with values of L*, a*, and b* showed good correlation in the evaluation of milling precision and flour grading (maximum value for wheat flour, L* was 86.921). The FT-IR analysis showed the main peaks in the region of C-H, N-H, and C-N bonds. The proposed methods are easy to be handled for rapid determination of several flour characteristics such as pH value, moisture and gluten content, parameters directly connected to storage quality. Application of available less cost methods for determination of certain parameters for safety use of flour products.

Food Sci., 32: 90-95.The effect of temperature on the kinetics of pigment extraction during the maceration of different fruits (raspberry, blackberry, and cranberry) into a commercially available hard spirit (orujo, with 42% v/v ethanol) was evaluated. The analytical method used was UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The initial extraction rate showed an Arrhenius-type dependence with apparent energy activation of 28.8, 69.8, and 55.6 kJ/mol, respectively. Furthermore, a study about the evolution of the colour (from colourless to reddish colour appearance) during the soaking process was done by calculating the CIE tristimulus values (X, Y, Z) for illuminant C, until reaching the apparent stabilisation of colour, which occurs after about two to four weeks for the studied temperatures (5, 23, and 40°C). Studies about the evolution of colour in the soaking process of this kind of fruit liquors can lead to a better understanding of this process, and thus to a better control over the mechanisms underlying it.
