Combination of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and phosphate solubilizing bacteria on growth and production of Helianthus tuberosus under field condition

Abstract: In this work, the effects of co-inoculation between an arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus (AMF) and a phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) to promote the growth and production of sunchoke under field condition were investigated during 2016 and 2017. Four treatments were set up as follows: plants without inoculation, with AMF inoculation, with PSB inoculation and with co-inoculation of PSB and AMF. The results showed the presence of PSB and AMF colonization at the harvest stage in both years. This suggested the sur… Show more

“…Plants associated with mycorrhizae perform as essential carbon sources for mycorrhizal growth (Wang et al 2017). AMF plays a role in increasing the absorption of nutrients, especially phosphorus, making soil aggregates more stable, as a bio-regulatory agent, increasing groundwater absorption and as a biological control agent (biocontrol) as well as being able to absorb and store heavy metals in the vacuoles, vesicles, and hyphae (Prayudyaningsih et al 2019;Setyaningsih et al 2020;Chaiya et al 2021;Ishaq et al 2021;Meng et al 2021;Nacoon et al 2021;Wu et al 2021).…”

“…The different types and densities of AMF spores in the two regions were strongly influenced by environmental factors, especially climate and soil (Alimi et al 2021;Meng et al 2021;Nacoon et al 2021;Piliarová et al 2019). Piliarová et al (2019) and Nacoon et al (2021) stated that the presence of AMF is strongly influenced by the type of host plant, spore type, and environmental factors such as soil. Soil is the most influential factor in the different types and spore density (Table 2).…”
