Combination of pharmacological analgesics and microwave irradiation of an acupuncture point for suppression of visceral pain in mice: Role of the opioid and serotonergic cerebral systems

Abstract: We studied suppression of pain-related reactions induced in mice by i.p. injection of 0.08 ml of a 2% solution of acetic acid using pharmacological analgesics (analgin and tramadol) combined with low-intensity microwave irradiation of an acupuncture point (AP) Е-36 (frequency 30 to 300 GHz and power rate density 3·10 -9 W/cm 2 ).
