Compact quint‐band Bandpass Filter design in a rigorous manner utilizing multimode stub‐loaded taper

Abstract: On a basis of 2 multimode resonators (MMRs) using stub‐loaded taper, a compact quint‐band BPF is proposed. Progressively, triple open‐circuited stubs and notch are loaded to taper without introducing extra coupling paths, and both tri‐, quad‐ and quint‐band BPF responses are available. In this way, design procedure is rigorous and reduction of coupling paths minimizes the quint‐band BPF design complexity, simultaneously. Meanwhile, owing to the cancelling effect of notch, independent control on central frequen… Show more

“…Most importantly, the FOLSIR in our filters is obtained by a novel structural deformation of SIR. In the existing multi-band BPFs researches, the center frequencies (CFs) of passbands are usually reduced by increasing the length or width of loaded stubs [34][35][36][37]. However, the increase of the CFs is limited when the loaded-stub length is reduced to zero.…”

“…Multiple passband filters with compact size, low insertion loss, and high selectivity are required in modern wireless communication systems . In recent times, few studies have been published for dual‐band bandpass filters (BPFs), triple‐band BPFs, quad‐band BPFs, and penta‐band BPFs . In Reference , by using short‐circuited stubs and multiple coupled poles, transmission zeros based dual‐band BPF was obtained with high selectivity.…”
