Abstract:An enhanced life expectancy in developed countries has been accompanied by an increased number of people suffering from age-associated dementia. Senile dementia is a syndrome due to disease of the brain, usually of a chronic or progressive nature, in which there is disturbance of multiple higher cortical functions, without any impairment in consciousness.
