“…The results have demonstrated that the combination of SAP and SD-OCT allowed revealing progression in over half of the patients both with POAG and PACG at 56.93% and 59.07%, respectively. These data are close to those obtained by us previously 20 ; however, the present work has shown the advantage of the assessment of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) in the detection of chronic PACG progression compared with the RNFL assessment.…”

“…Some authors believethat IOP fluctuations in PACG are caused by the circadian changes of the choroid, which has the largest thickness in PACG. 6,29,30 Our recent study has revealed that a thick choroid is a predictor of PACG progression 20 ; moreover, we have noticed an inverse correlation between the foveal choroid thickness and the vessel density of the superficial vascular plexus of the macula, where RGCs are located. 31 The early involvement of the MIRL in the glaucomatous process is associated with the most vulnerable zone in glaucoma, which is located in macula, 32 and the macular microvasculature decreases with the disease progression.…”

“…Поскольку увеличение ТХф является независимым предиктором развития ПЗУГ и характеризует ее хроническую форму [20], то с помощью ОКТ-визуализации возможно прогнозировать течение ПЗУГ. Согласно нашим исследованиям прогрессирование ПЗУГ ассоциировано именно с увеличением ТХ [40].…”
