“…Ovaprim is a ready to use product and the solution is stable at ambient temperature. It contains an analogue of 20 µg of Salmon gonadotropin releasing hormone (sGnRHa) and a dopamine antagonsist, domperidone at 10 mg/ml Ovaprim has unique advantages over pituitary hormone -ready to use liquid form in 10 ml vial, consistent potency and reliable results, long shelf life, and can be stored at room temperature, formulated to prevent over dosing, male and female can be injected only once simultaneously, reduces handling and post breeding mortality, The results of the current work in the hormonal stimulation are similar to the effectiveness and usefulness by using Ovaprim (Jamroz et al, 2008). The trials on induced breeding of Indian major carps (Catla catla, Labeo rohita, Cirrhina mrigala) were carried out by Dhawan and Kaur (2004) and hatching rates (65-90%).The number of spawn produced varied from 0.4895-2.4393.…”

“…Ide, is a rheophileous cyprinid, widely distributed in Europe, especially in rivers and lakes (Jamróz et al, 2008;Cejko et al, 2010;Ciesla et al, 2014). In recent years, reproduction of Ide in captivity has received increasing attention to meet the demand of high quality juveniles for restocking (Wojda, 2004;Krejszeff et al, 2009), sport fishing, aquarium industry (Jamróz et al, 2008;Cejko et al, 2010), toxicity studies (Witeska et al, 2014) and as a bio-monitoring agent (Fenske et al, 2006). On the other hand, Northern pike is an iteroparous, large-bodied and long-living (>10 years) fish species inhabiting the northern hemisphere (Craig, 2008;Forsman et al, 2015).…”

“…Recently conducted studies also indicate that Ovopel has an application in the reproduction of rheophilic cyprinid fishes i.e., asp, Aspius aspius (L.); ide, Leuciscus idus (L.); or chub, Squalius cephalus (L.) (see Cejko et al 2008, Żars-ki et al 2009). In comparison to control group stimulation with Ovopel gives better results in ovulation, latency time, survival to eyed-egg stage, and motility of spermatozoa in milt and volume of obtained milt , Jamróz et al 2008, Cejko et al 2010. The effectiveness of the application of Ovopel to both males and females of numerous fish species as well as economic and practical considerations (Hakuć-Błażowska et al 2009 have led to the application of this hormonal product as a means of stimulating spermation in many species of fish.…”
