Comparison of efficacy of amoxicillin versus ciprofloxacin in postsurgical management of transalveolar extraction

Abstract: Background:The transalveolar extraction and the use of pharmacological antibiotic therapy following the surgical procedure in management of postoperative infection go hand in hand in minor oral surgery. Attention has often been focused on antibiotic therapy administered at different time schedules (before or after surgery or both). This investigation reveals how the use of different molecules and dosages is critical in the postoperative period and has always provided positive result.Methodology:A prospective r… Show more

“…In addition, synergistic effects are also observed with conventional antimicrobials such as cefotaxime and ciprofloxacin (Dhara & Tripathi, 2020). This could be useful when considering surgery prior to the use of dental appliances where such antimicrobials could be used (Natarajan et al, 2017). Finally, the good compatibility of cinnamaldehyde with other natural compounds such as carvacrol and eugenol makes it possible to combine such ingredients in the material.…”

“…There is no need of antibiotic prescription in an otherwise healthy patient. 27 However, still 58.5% of the clinicians chose prescribing antibiotics as an option. Comparable results were seen in few other studies conducted in United States.…”

“…Various biomolecules like proteins and peptides can link to phthalocyanine dyes which are therefore, used in bioanalytical and bioimaging fields (Yang et al, 2020). Natarajan et al (2017) synthesized a form of phthalocyanines which are hydrophobic axial groups, but contains both hydrophilic groups and a reactive group that is attached to the benzo-ring. Another metalloid like silicon can replace copper in this structure which will allow it to have two axial ligands (Natarajan et al 2017).…”
