Comparison of Grain Yield and Some Characteristics of Hulled, Durum and Bread Wheat Genotypes Varieties

Abstract: In spite of the low grain yield they produce, the hulled wheat have become even more important in recent years because of their resistance to negative environmental conditions and healthy nutritional content. The research was carry out in order to comparison the yield and yield characteristics of durum (Kiziltan-91 and C-1252), hulled (Einkorn and Emmer) and bread wheat (Tir) varieties in Isparta ecological conditions in 2013-14 and 2014-15 vegetation periods. In both years, the highest grain yield was obtaine… Show more

“…Arithmetic means through shown in table (7), there is a significant difference between genotypes, as two genotypes Misr 3 and Giza 164 were significantly superior (14.84) and (14.80) tons per ha -1 over all the genotypes studied with exception of two genotypes Sakha 95 and Sakha 61 ( 14.75 and 14.73 tons ha -1 , respectively, while al-Fayyad genotype recorded lowest average for this trait, reaching 13.55 tons ha -1 .The difference in genotypes in traits of biological yield may be because of the nature of genetic factors of each of them and is also because of increase in dry matter production and storage in direct proportion to an increase in vegetative growth. These results were agreed with [28,32], regarding effect of concentration of glutamic acid and arginine and their combinations, as results recorded a significant difference, that combination (glutamic acid 200 mg L -1 + arginine acid 200 mg L -1 ) recorded highest mean for trait (15.53) tons ha -1 compared to control treatment. (13.67) tons ha -1 .…”

“…It is noted in table (4) a significant superiority of Bohuth 10, which gave the highest mean The average was (14.47 cm) and the lowest average was recorded by the cultivar Adana, which amounted to (12.05 cm), which did not differ significantly from the cultivars Ibaa99, Babel 113, and Bohuth22. The reason for this is that the materials manufactured in the leaves through the process of photosynthesis contributed greatly to increasing the length of the spike This result is in line with what was reached by [23,24]. The table also displayed how spike length changed as a function of copper concentrations.…”
