Background: Halothane and Isoflurane are two frequent inhalation agents used as maintenance anesthesia during surgery. After experiencing anesthesia, many patients experience decreased hemodynamic status as pressure blood, respiration, and pulse. Because that study this expected could determine proper anesthesia for use. Purpose : evaluates differences in hemodynamic status post-anesthesia consequence use of halothane and isoflurane. Method research: Study this is a study with quasi pre-post design experiment with a control group design. The sample study is all patients undergoing Installation Surgery at Sele Be Solu Hospital, Sorong City, which uses the general anesthesia technique with inhalation of halothane or isoflurane for as many as 21 people. Instrument study use sheet observation to measure pressure, blood, respiration, and pulse During surgery. Research Results: The Wilcoxon test obtained a score of 0.157 on the pressure blood respondent after getting anesthesia halothane and respondents after getting anesthesia isoflurane, i.e., 0.007. significance of 1.000 and 0.317 on pulse respondents who got anesthesia halothane and isoflurane. Significance of 1.000 and 0.083 on respiration respondents who got anesthesia halothane and isoflurane. Mann Whitney test shows changes in blood pressure, pulse, and respiration in anesthetized respondents who used halothane and isoflurane score significance of 0.784, 0.576, and 0.307. Conclusion: There is a difference in blood pressure at first and end anesthesia use of isoflurane. No, there is a difference in frequency pulse, initial pulse, and respiration anesthesia, and end anesthesia use isoflurane.No there is a difference in pressure blood, pulse, and respiration at the beginning and end anesthesia use halothane. There is no difference in blood pressure, pulse, and respiration after general anesthesia uses isoflurane and halothane.

Objectives. This review aimed to evaluate previous studies using Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) in dementia by summarising the results, determining the consensus in the literature, and delineating if, and how, NIRS experimental and analysis methods may be improved for future studies in dementia. Methods. Three databases (PsychINFO, Medline, Embase) were searched for original research studies using NIRS in dementia and prodromal disease stages. We included both observational and randomised control trials, and studies published in English. Animal studies, conference abstracts, and reviews were excluded. Results. From 759 identified records, 80 studies using NIRS in dementia and prodromal populations across a range of activation tasks testing memory (28), word retrieval (22), and motor (7) and visuo-spatial function (4), as well as in the resting state (29) were evaluated. Across these cognitive domains, dementia patients generally showed a blunted haemodynamic response, often localised to frontal regions of interest, and a lack of task-appropriate frontal lateralisation. Prodromal stages, such as Mild Cognitive Impairment, revealed mixed results and were associated with either diminished responses or hyperactivity, accompanied by reduced cognitive function, the latter suggesting a possible compensatory neural response which is not present at the dementia stage. Conclusion. There is clear evidence of alterations in brain oxygenation in both dementia and prodromal stages across a range of cognitive domains and in the resting state, indicating an ability of NIRS to distinguish dementia from healthy ageing, or at-risk populations. A consensus as to the nature of these changes, however, is difficult to reach due to a lack of standardisation in optical techniques and processing methods. Further studies are required exploring more naturalistic settings and in a wider range of dementia subtypes.

Background Assessing consciousness might benefit the care for people with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia at the end of life by indicating distressing symptoms and moments of awareness. This could guide symptom control and increase interaction with the person with dementia. Objective This study aims to investigate the acceptability of a biosignal measurement of consciousness, the Bispectral Index monitoring (BIS), for persons with dementia at the end of life. Methods Qualitative study using focus groups and interviews with demonstrations of BIS monitoring, with 17 individuals with dementia and 24 family caregivers. Qualitative content analysis was based on the theoretical framework of acceptability. Results People with dementia did not find BIS monitoring bothersome, yet acceptability varied across participants and situations. Family caregivers considered BIS acceptable for medical situations such as palliative sedation and pain assessment. Perceived effectiveness, ethicality, and usefulness considerations underpinned reasons and concerns around acceptability. Conclusions Potential end-users expressed diverse attitudes towards BIS monitoring in dementia end-of-life care. If BIS or similar technologies are to be implemented in the future, care must be taken to ensure that the device has sufficient added value, that the person with dementia and family are well informed, and that the technology does not replace human care. Future research should investigate its efficacy and feasibility in the situations that were deemed acceptable.
