Comparison of Multiple Bioactive Constituents in the Flower and the Caulis of Lonicera japonica Based on UFLC-QTRAP-MS/MS Combined with Multivariate Statistical Analysis

Abstract: Lonicerae japonicae flos (LJF) and Lonicerae japonicae caulis (LJC) are derived from different parts of Lonicera japonica Thunb. (Caprifoliaceae), and have been used as herbal remedies to treat various diseases for thousands of years with confirmed curative effects. However, little attention has been paid to illustrating the differences in efficacy from the perspective of phytochemistry. In the present study, a simultaneous determination of 47 bioactive constituents, including 12 organic acids, 12 flavonoids, … Show more

“…Except for lonicerin, kaempferol‐3‐O-rutinoside can be discriminated from different ion modes; In the same ion mode, isomers with the same ion pairs, therefore, the standard substances of isomer were sequentially injected into QTRAP‐MS/MS based on the accurate retention time to identification and quantification. Other conditions are consistent with our previous report 29 .…”

“…Natural compounds including kaempferol, ursolic acid, and rutin have been detected in Jin–Yin–Hua ( Flos Lonicerae ; Lonicera japonica Thunb. ) ( Cai et al, 2019 ), with kaempferol and rutin also detected in Lian–Qiao and Qi–Ju–Di–Huang–Wan. Ursolic acid is able to suppress both the p38 MAPK and NF-kB pathways ( Ma et al, 2014 ).…”

“…LC-MS is regarded as one of the most common methods in metabolomics, which has been widely used to investigate the metabolic profiles of plant materials. Recently, several LC-MS methods are established for qualitative and quantitative analysis of bioactive compounds in traditional Chinese medicine in our laboratory [20][21][22].…”
