“…As an illustration, More than 300 units of the medium voltage (TM) cubicle at the distribution substation of PT PLN (Persero) Distribution Jaya and Tangerang have been damaged annually, where the impact of corona discharge caused the most damage [10]. Therefore, it is necessary to have a monitoring system that is able to Miftahul Fikri 1*) , Christiono 2) , Iwa Garniwa Mulyana K 3) , Titi Ratnasari 4) , Kurniawan Atmadja 5) , Andi Amar Thahara 6) and Muhammad Luthfiansyah Romadhoni provide up-to-date information from all scattered cubicles and can be seen at the control center. Therefore, a clustering method with high accuracy is needed.…”

“…The cubicle is applied to a voltage of 20 kV, which can cause symptoms of corona discharge (CD), which, if it continues, will cause electrical failure or short circuit, especially if the condition is humid or rainy [5]. Corona discharge is a phenomenon because of partial discharge from high voltage electrical energy colliding with gas molecules in the air when the electric field voltage exceeds a critical level, causing audible noise, frequency noise to the communication system, and loss of power on the anomaly of transmission line [6], [7]. [8] The corona produces a violet (purple) colored light followed by a hissing sound, creating the smell of ozone.…”

“…Also decreasing the cross-section area of the conducting materials could also boost power losses in the transmission line [3] [4]. Further losses are known to be induced by the appreciable disparity between the phase and disruptive voltages, transmission frequency, and diameter (or radius) of the conducting materials [4] [5]. Conversely, decreasing air density increases losses due to environmental or weather conditions [7] [8].…”
