“…In the same way, MRSA strains were found to be enterotoxigenic and showed resistance to at least one of the antibiotics tested. Andre et al (2008) found all S. aureus strains isolated from cheese samples were sensitive to vancomycin and gentamicin, similar to this study. Recently, cheese samples made with raw sheep's milk examined by Spanu et al (2010), did not find any sample to be harbouring the MRSA strain.…”

“…This finding is in disagreement with the result in the study. The detection of S. aureus in 6% of samples in the study was higher than the 3.2% reported by Günş en and Büyükyörük (2003), on the other hand, lower than the 8% reported by Turantaş , Ünlütürk, and Göktan (1989), the 60% by Kıvanç (1989), the 68% by Bostan, U gur, and Aksu (1992), the 100% by Uraz and Gündo gan (1998), the 66.6% by Ş engül (2006), the 66% by Keskin, Özyaral, Baş kaya, and Susur (2006), the 92.5% by Öksüztepe, Patır, Dikici, Bozkurt, and Çalıcıo glu (2007), the 16.3% by De Luca, Zanetti, and Stampi (1997) and the 70.8% by Andre et al (2008) (Table 2). Differences between the results may be based on the differences in the cheese production techniques, and whether the milk used was raw or pasteurized.…”

“…In \another study in the Bologna area, S. aureus was present in 16.3% of the cheese samples manufactured from pasteurized milk, with a density ranging from 10 1 to 3.1 9 10 5 cfu/g. Minas Frescal cheese is widely consumed by the Brazilian and the study about this cheese shows that S. aureus isolates from the cheese were the same as isolated from the raw milk (Andre et al 2008;Charlier et al 2009). Carvalho et al (2007) have not detected any coagulase positive S. aureus in Minas Frescal cheese process and they concluded that due to its closed system process with no handling the product after pasteurization.…”
