“…The correct identification rates of the extracted species were compared and are presented in Table 4. In the extracted streptococcal species, the ASTA MicroIDSys showed a similar excellent ability to identify Streptococcus as other systems, 9,13,14 consistent with our results (Table 4).…”

“…There was no statistically significant difference between the identification accuracy of the ASTA MicroIDSys and the Bruker Biotyper for VGS at the species level ( P = 0.289). Similar ASTA MicroIDSys identification performance results to those obtained from the present study were observed in three comparative studies of ASTA MicroIDSys identification performance with large bacteria or yeast samples ( N : 889–4919) isolated from routine culture samples submitted to clinical microbiology laboratories 9,13,14 . Compared with the Bruker Biotyper or VITEK MS, the ASTA MicroIDSys showed excellent performance, without remarkable differences between them 9,13,14 .…”

“…In that study, identical results with confidence scores (≥2.0 for Bruker Biotyper) and acceptable scores (≥140 for ASTA MicroIDSys) were obtained for 86.1% from the 4919 isolates recovered from sputum, urine, and pus samples [ 8 ]. In another study which evaluated the performance of ASTA MicroIDSys compared to that of VITEK MS, the ASTA MicroIDSys correctly identified 96.7% of isolates to species level which was comparable to VITEK MS (97.3%) [ 9 ].…”
