“…The fact remains that permanent or temporary bone–tendon injuries in bone tendons occur frequently, resulting from direct lateral strokes to the elbow and falling over the hand(s) [27]. Apart from sportive activities, bone–tendon damage may be the case in geriatric patient populations with low energetic trauma where bone quality is low, or in young patients with high energetic trauma, such as motorcycle crashes [2832]. …”

“…The rodent knee differs anatomically from the human; however, rat knees were a suitable choice for this study since our focus was on small animal models, which are an accepted model of joint injury/disease. This also afforded us the opportunity of lower acquisition costs and increased availability 27 of specimens to take our study through the proof-of-concept phase. With respect to our surgical reconstruction technique, graft positioning and tensioning was performed by hand and, due to the small joint size, likely included some variability, which was difficult to account for fully.…”

“…This can enable early aggressive rehabilitation while reducing the risk of repair breakdown. 4 Using a surgical spoon for safe thoracotomy closure in minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass surgery Minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass involves anastomosis of the left internal mammary artery to the left anterior descending artery via a small left anterior thoracotomy. This incision is closed by reapproximation of the ribs with interrupted pericostal sutures.…”
