“…In biological applications, organic–inorganic hybrid nanomaterials have been investigated because of their structural and compositional variations in each section. Due to its interparticle plasmonic pairing for photonics-based biosensor applications, a mixture of these hybrid NPs with metallic nanomaterial would be desirable [ 118 ]. Hwang et al [ 118 ] prepared silver/gold (Ag@Au) core–shell NPs)-poly(aniline) hybrid nanostructures (CBCPHNs) for the early diagnosis of RA.…”

Hwang et al [ 118 ] prepared silver/gold (Ag@Au) core–shell NPs)-poly(aniline) hybrid nanostructures (CBCPHNs) for the early diagnosis of RA. Nanohybrids were used in surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-based multiplexed detection of auto-antibodies (RF IgM and anti-CCP).…”

“…The PANI hemisphere was modified with anti-CCP antibodies and rheumatoid factor immunoglobulin M. For the multiplexed assay, MB were modified with the same antibodies for the capture of RA autoantibodies, followed by tagging with the Au–Ag-PA Janus nanohybrids for subsequent SERS detection exploiting the Au and Ag NPs as hot-spots. Successful multiplexed detection of anti-CCP and rheumatoid factor immunoglobulin M was achieved with LOD of 0.7 and 0.9 IU/mL, respectively [ 53 ].
