Composição corporal e somatótipo de mulheres com sobrepeso e obesas pré e pós-treinamento em circuito ou caminhada

Abstract: Purposes:To compare different assessment methods of the body composition in overweight and sedentary obese women submitted to two months of circuit training (CIRC) or Jogging (JOGG) and to associate the physical performance to the muscular index calculated using two methods. Methods: Groups: CIRC, n = 14, body mass index (BDI, kg/m 2 ) = 32 ± 8 (mean ± SD; age = 34 ± 10 years; and JOGG, n = 12, BMI = 30 ± 3; age = 38 ± 11. Training: 60 min. x 3d/week in the first month, and 60 min. x 4d/week in the second mont… Show more

“…The present study found a high level of agreement between the two methods (bioimpedance and sum of skinfolds) used to assess body fat in kilograms (Kg). This has also been observed by other authors in studies conducted with women undergoing hemodialysis (r 2 =0.96) 36 (r 2 =0.87) 37 and with overweight and obese women practicing walking (r 2 =0.83) 19 . However, the results shown in this study differ from those found by Rodrigues-Barbosa et al 22 , who analyzed elderly women and did not find agreement (r 2 =0.25, p<0.05) between the methods studied (BIA and sum of skinfolds).…”

“…The majority of studies aimed at comparing total body fat assessment, using easily executed methods such as bioimpedance and the sum of skinfolds, were conducted with sportsmen and women or athletes 18,19 . In contrast, studies conducted with women from several age groups used different methods, including the most expensive ones 15,[20][21][22] .…”

“…Thus, Fett et al [26], in a study of body composition and somatotype of overweight and obese women before and after circuit training or walking, observed greater action electromyography to analyze muscle groups of the lower rectus femoris, vastus medialis and lateral extensor knee. However, the gluteus maximus and rectus abdominis have changed in exercises with type board.…”

“…Do mesmo modo, Fett et al, 30 estudando apenas mulheres, encontraram redução significativa no peso, IMC e percentual de GC, sem alteração na MM, com dois tipos de exercício físico (resistido + aeróbico e somente aeróbico). Pavlou et al, 3 encontraram perda de peso e massa gorda, sem modificação na MM, em 72 obesos submetidos a uma intervenção com dieta + exercício de força + aeróbico.…”
