Mathematical education, as it is now practiced, has many problems. Students that were taught using traditional instruction were only taught to listen. Without the input and feedback of the pupils, the teacher controls the learning process. Students were unable to improve their communication abilities and lacked learning independence. This study aimed to ascertain how case-based learning affected students' mathematics communication skills. The study had a posttest-only design and was a quasi-experimental investigation. The control class received standard instruction, whereas the experiment class received case-based learning instruction. The ability of students to communicate mathematically was the dependent variable in this study. The independent variables in this study were case-based learning and independent variables. Forty-six pre-service mathematics teachers from two full classes served as the research participants in their fifth semester. The tests of prior knowledge and mathematical communication skills were used as study tools. According to the research findings, there is a difference in students' capacity for mathematical communication between those who receive case-based learning instruction and those who receive traditional instruction. The experiment class had better student communication skills than the control group (p-value = 0.047). As a result, case-based learning is one option for enhancing students' communication abilities.

This study aims to investigate the impact of utilizing the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) model supported by YouTube on enhancing self-efficacy and mathematical analysis abilities among junior high school students. Adopting a quantitative approach, this research was structured as a quasi-experimental design with a post-test only control group arrangement. Data was collected through subjective questionnaires, descriptive questions, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using MANOVA with the aid of SPSS version 25. The findings indicate a significant difference in self-efficacy and mathematical analysis skills between students who participated in learning using the GDL model supported by YouTube compared to those who engaged in GDL without YouTube and expository learning methods. MANOVA testing, following the tests for data normality and homogeneity, affirmed the effectiveness of the YouTube-assisted GDL model in enhancing both variables. This study confirms that the application of the Guided Discovery Learning model with YouTube support significantly improves self-efficacy and mathematical analysis skills in junior high school students compared to other learning methods. This highlights the potential of integrating online resources like YouTube into teaching methods to facilitate more interactive learning experiences and improve student learning outcomes.

The use of multimedia as a tool for delivering learning content instead of the traditional classroom learning practice is gaining popularity nowadays. CAI is the use of computer programs that are available both online and offline for instruction. The objective of this paper is to conduct a systematic literature review (SLR) on computer assisted (or aided) instruction (CAI) for five years period from 2018 to 2022 at all educational level. The objective of this study is to determine the research distribution on CAI, to identify the methods of data collection used in studies on CAI and to identify the types of CAI investigated in the research community from 2018 to 2022. This SLR uses review protocol for the selection of primary studies for inclusion in the study from the pool of literature available in the research community. The results of the review shows that the highest publication on CAI in the review period was in 2020 and most researchers used achievement test for collection of data on CAI in the reviewed period. The study also found out that ‘Computer-Based Simulation’ is the popular type of CAI used in experiments by researchers in the period of review. The use of CAI for teaching and learning activities enables flexible and efficient interaction among students and educators. This is a critical factor for enhancing learners’ academic achievement. In conclusion, it is recommended that further research be conducted on CAI to promote its adoption in education systems.
