Introduction: Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) or digital eye strain is a collection of eye problems related to vision. The telemarketing division in Bank X has 10 hours working time per day and 60 hours per week. This study aimed to determine CVS complaints among telemarketing workers and analyze the factors that caused CVS complaints in workers. Methods: The study used a cross-sectional study design, with a total sample of 53 workers. The variables studied were lighting intensity, monitor distance, age, refractive disorders, eye rest, and eye protection. The study used a lux meter to measure the light intensity and the Snellen chart to see eye refraction abnormalities. Results: The results determined that 77.4% of computer workers in Bank X Telemarketing division experienced CVS complaints while 22.6% did not experience CVS. The results of statistical tests showed that light intensity, monitor distance, refractive disorders, and eye rest were associated with CVS complaints, while age and eye protection equipment were not related to CVS complaints. Conclusion: Most telemarketing workers experienced CVS complaints caused by lighting intensity, monitor distance, refractive disorders, and eye rest.

The COVID-19 pandemic poses a risk of increasing cases of computer vision syndrome (CVS) due to changes in the environment for work and study because of the implementation of the Work/Study from Home policy. This study aimed to determine the risk factors associated with CVS in students. The study design was cross-sectional with the population of bachelor program students, with a sample size of 124 students. Data were collected through online questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out to study the statistical relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable using the Chi-Square test. This study showed that the prevalence of CVS among students was 87.1%. The analysis showed that one variable had a significant relationship with CVS in students, namely emotional exhaustion (OR 5.47, 95% CI: 1.75-17.02). Another variable, although not significant, was considered to play a role as a risk factor for CVS, namely the duration of computer use (OR 4.75, 95% CI: 1.02-22.25). Emotional exhaustion and duration of computer use are important risk factors in the occurrence of CVS in students during the online learning period. It is necessary to increase socialization regarding the ergonomics of using computers and stress management to prevent CVS in students.

ABSTRAK Sebagian besar pekerjaan yang ada pada abad ke 21 melibatkan penggunaan komputer dan lebih dari 90 juta orang dewasa di dunia yang menggunakan komputer dalam kehidupannya. Di samping memudahkan berbagai pekerjaan manusia, komputer juga memberikan dampak negatif bagi para penggunanya terutama terhadap masalah kesehatan. Kumpulan gejala yang sering dikeluhkan para pengguna komputer dikenal sebagai Computer Vision Syndrome. CVS dapat dikatakan sebagai penyebab berbagai efek yang sangat mengganggu produktivitas, kebugaran dan kualitas hidup sehari-hari. Oleh sebab itu program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah pendidikan dalam bentuk penyuluhan kesehatan yang dilakukan evaluasi melalui pretest dan posttest mengunakan media zoom dalam bentuk webinar. Jumlah peserta yang hadir sebanyak 34 orang. Metode pendidikan kesehatan dilakukan dengan menyiapkan area pertemuan yaitu zoom meeting sebagai media untuk pertemuan virtual, menyiapkan media edukasi yang diperlukan serta memberikan link pre-test dan post test untuk menilai pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta sebelum dan sesudah diberikannya pendidikan Kesehatan. Data demografi responden menjukkan bahwa banyak peserta yang menggunakan laptop >4 jam (94,1%) dan dari presentase tersebut banyak pula yang merasakan tanda gejala dari comupter vision syndrome sebanyak 88,2%. Hasil kegiatan yaitu terdapat perubahan dalam pengetahuan (100%). Diharapkan informasi yang telah disampaikan dalam bentuk pendidikan kesehatan ini dapat menjadi pengetahuan yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat umum serta meningkatkan pencegahan terhadap kejadian Computer Vision Syndrome. Kata Kunci: Computer Vision Syndrome, Pendidikan Kesehatan, Tingkat Pengetahuan ABSTRACT Most of the work that exists in the 21st century involves the use of computers and more than 90 million adults in the world use computers in their lives. In addition to facilitating various human jobs, computers also have a negative impact on their users, especially on health problems. A collection of symptoms that computer users often complain about is known as Computer Vision Syndrome. CVS can be said to be the cause of various effects that greatly interfere with productivity, fitness and quality of daily life. Therefore, this community service program is education in the form of health counseling which is evaluated through pretest and posttest using zoom media in the form of webinars. The number of participants who attended was 34 people. The health education method is carried out by preparing a meeting area, namely a zoom meeting as a medium for virtual meetings, preparing the necessary educational media and providing pre-test and post-test links to assess participants' knowledge and understanding before and after the Health education is given. Demographic data of respondents showed that many participants used laptops >4 hours (94.1%) and from that percentage, many felt the symptoms of computer vision syndrome as much as 88.2%. The result of the activity is that there is a change in knowledge (100%). It is hoped that the information that has been conveyed in the form of health education can become useful knowledge for the general public and increase the prevention of the occurrence of Computer Vision Syndrome.
