Abstract:Some degree of physiological subepithelial opacification can be photographed in all human corneas. In most patients undergoing refractive treatment with an excimer laser further opacification occurs. The Nidek EAS 1000 Anterior Segment Analysis System was used with a 6-mm Scheimpflug slit image in the vertical meridian to photograph both these types of opacities. An image-processing technique was developed to measure corneal opacification quantitatively. A 2.5-mm diameter circle centred on the vertex of the po… Show more
Using noncontact corneal OCT, corneal and epithelial thickness changes and the wound-healing response in the anterior corneal stroma could be evaluated after PTK in patients with recurrent epithelial erosions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
