Diese Formulierung musste zur damaligen Zeit Widerspruch provozieren, und Scheinberg und Mitarbeiter hielten es für notwendig, im Rahmen ihrer Replikation der Er-gebnisse Akerfeldts die Bedeutung des Coeruloplasmins für die Schizophrenie insgesamt infrage zu stellen, da einige Patienten normale Coeruloplasminspiegel hatten [137]. Zudem wurden im weiteren Verlauf zunehmend immunologisch basierte Messungen durchgeführt, die im Gegensatz zu den enzymatischen Reaktionen in der Regel keine erhöhten Coeruloplasmin-Konzentrationen zeigten.…”
