Digital technologies have radically changed the tourism industry and gaining a lot of attention from the stakeholders. At present, there is voluminous but fragmented research to cover the various aspects of digital tourism, but a consolidated “big picture” of the extant research is missing. By performing a bibliometric analysis of 827 papers on digital tourism, an attempt has been made to fill this void. The investigation revealed that the management of smart destinations, the internet as a communication and marketing channel, technology and sustainability, and consumer behavior are emerging research directions in digital tourism. Observations regarding little scientific interest and collaborations in regions like Russia and Africa present an opportunity for researchers and businesses to set directions and strategies for the future. The epidemic has forced the academic world, regardless of nation of origin, to unify to find a response to the economic and social difficulties we confront as quickly as possible. This paper investigates how academic performance in terms of scientific publications, especially during the pandemic period, may constitute the premises for boosting professional well-being. The analysis focuses on the researchers and professors of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, analysing in a comparative way the academic performance during the pandemic as a fundamental side of their professional career. To do that, two samples of scientific publications collected between January 2020 and December 2021 were investigated. The first sample comprised 1411 documents indexed in the WoS database, while the second one was formed by 876 documents indexed in the Scopus database. All samples were published during the pandemic and have the university’s affiliation. The empirical findings indicated that the pandemic has created a boost in the number and quality of medical publications for the professors at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. They created new multidisciplinary teams (economics and medicine), strengthening and widening national and international collaborations.

Environmental well-being has recently been put at risk due to unsustainable industrial practices. The relevant decision-makers have developed policies to support a greener approach in the economy. This paper aims to present a complete and comprehensive connection between the key concepts of the economy based on biological resources from both empirical and analytical perspectives by highlighting the structure, importance, and evolution. Through bibliometric research and network mapping analysis, we have revealed the most popular concept among researchers and countries, and the current trend for each term considered. Currently, there is no comparative study on the linkage between bioeconomy, circular economy, knowledgebased economy, bio-based economy, green economy, and bioeconomics, but only taken as separate concepts, thus being difficult to assess the significance and popularity of a term over another and to track the evolution over time. Our results are meant to cover the gap around the interconnected terms in bioeconomy and to enhance the current conceptual frameworks.
