Conductivity of PEDOT:PSS on Spin-Coated and Drop Cast Nanofibrillar Cellulose Thin Films

Abstract: Aqueous dispersion of conductive polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)–poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) was deposited on spin-coated and drop cast nanofibrillar cellulose (NFC)–glycerol (G) matrix on a glass substrate. A thin glycerol film was utilized on plasma-treated glass substrate to provide adequate adhesion for the NFC-glycerol (NFC-G) film. The effects of annealing temperature, the coating method of NFC-G, and the coating time intervals on the electrical performance of the PEDOT:PSS were character… Show more

“…Also their surfaces are smoother, which can be important, e.g., for high definition of linewidths in printed devices. Nanopapers can be furnished also by a wealth of other functional properties, like barrier properties to reduce vapour permeation, fire‐retardancy, magnetic properties, and electrical conductivity . Among the potential applications, we foresee that nanopaper device substrates for flexible transparent devices are particularly promising.…”

“…The nanosize of the cellulose opened more available OH for the in situ polymerization, thus increasing the PANI coating [45]. PEDOT:PSS can also be spin coated on nanofibrillar cellulose film [46]. Mayer rod coating (Figure 2) is one of the most popular coating methods on a paper substrate.…”

“…The hybrid SCs are fabricated by using crystalline silicon with conjugated polymers ( such as poly (3,4 ethylene dioxythiophene styrene sulfonate PEDOT:PSS) [16][17][18] making it be simpler and easier to produce solar cells utilizing nontoxic, low cost materials at room temperature. It is also possible to prepare flexible solar cells with large area low cost technologies such as printing and roll to roll processes [19][20][21][22]. Conjugated materials i.e.…”
