“…The role of BA on treatment outcomes has, however, only been studied in patients with Stanford type A aortic dissection. 10,23 In a multicentre study of 157 patients, operated on for type A aortic dissection, the authors concluded that the presence of a BA could predict the location of the primary entry tear in the aortic arch and was an independent risk factor for a poor neurological outcome. Multivariate analysis did not show BA as a risk factor for in hospital mortality.…”
