Considerations for IEL Courseware Design and the Next Generation of E-learning

Abstract: Abstract. The purpose of this study is to discuss strategies for developing integrated elearning (IEL) courseware based on instructional design and technology (IDT) models and approaches as well as new discussions of e-learning. For this purpose, the study begins with the selection of one or more IDT models to conduct an e-courseware design including IEL modules based on instructional strategies and improvements. The authors discuss the strategies and steps that a design team should follow in designing integra… Show more

“…They also create instructional materials to be used by whiteboards and computers in schools, industry and training. At this time, the use of visuals, userinterface design rules, and e-learning design principles can be integrated to develop courseware and e-learning materials through ID models and theories (İpek, Sözcü, 2014;Sözcü, İpek, 2013Sözcü, İpek, , 2014. For this reason, all design process should include instructional, pedagogical and technological approaches in e-learning design, which can be defined as integrated e-learning design model (İpek, et al, 2008;Jochems et al, 2005;Sözcü, İpek, 2014).…”

“…Most of the e-courseware are generated by multimedia production software (Cui et al, 2019). To develop the e-courseware, an instructional design model for the development of effective teaching and learning materials is important (Sözcü & İpek, 2013). This model should not only address presentation aspects such as the design of navigational structures among hypermedia objects, but also pay close attention to the organization of the content (Ateyeh et al, 2000).…”
