Contact urticaria from chlorhexidine

Abstract: A 37-year-old Chinese patient developed generalised urticaria and dyspnoea after the insertion of a copper IUCD (Multiload) at a maternal and child health centre. She was cleansed with chlorhexidine (0.05%) solution prior to the insertion of the IUCD.
