Continuous nanofibers manufactured by electrospinning technique

Abstract: In this paper, we report a modified technique for the production of oriented continuous nanofibers instead of non-woven mats using a rapidly rotating collection device. We are interested in retaining physical properties such as electrical conductivity of fiber bundles in their axial direction. The experiments were performed using polyethylene oxide (PEO) and its blend with polyaniline (PANI). According to the results, a typical fiber with a uniform diameter of about 100 nanometer was produced. The fibers from … Show more

“…Various electrospinning techniques have been applied to the fabrication of nanofibers consisting of natural and synthetic polymers, polymer blends, and polymer composites. [125][126][127][128][129][130][131] Several approaches have been considered for the alignment of electrospun nanofibers, 132,133 and the complex architectures including core-shell, 134 porous, 135 and hollow 136 nanostructures can be also fabricated through modified electrospinning techniques. The diameter of electrospun fibers is susceptible to the concentration of polymer in solution.…”

“…10 Among the conducting polymers, polyaniline (PANI) is under extensive study even today because of its high environmental stability, low cost, and relatively simple polymerization process. [11][12][13] In spite of various advantages, PANI has received limit of application until several years ago, because PANI is neither soluble nor fusible in organic solvents as well as water. 13 Cao et al, have first achieved the development of PANI with better solubility in common solvents.…”
