Contrasting Worldviews at Bank and Securities Market Regulators

Abstract: Bank and securities regulators operate with different attitudes about the appropriate regulation of financial institutions and markets. Bank regulators’ prudential oversight protects depositors from worrying about the repayment of their bank claims.
