Controlling dissociation by trapping trajectories in highly energetic states

Abstract: h i g h l i g h t s • A particle is trapped in a state outside the potential well. • The trap is a non-linear resonance island. • Chaotic and point attractors prevent the particle photo-dissociation. • Dissipation inhibits photo-dissociation for energies above the dissociation threshold. • The model used is the perturbed Morse oscillator.
