The aim of this study is to examine the satisfaction level of instructors teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) online at the tertiary level in Türkiye. The mixed-method research design was used to understand the nature of the existing state. In the quantitative part of the study, a total of 106 EFL instructors were included while there were 7 EFL instructors in the qualitative part of the study. The data were obtained through the “Online Instructor Satisfaction Measure (OISM)”, and an interview form consisting of 8 open-ended questions. Descriptive statistics were used in the analysis of the quantitative data while content analysis was employed for the analysis of qualitative data. The overall satisfaction level of EFL instructors with online teaching was found to be at moderate level. The findings revealed that EFL instructors identified various personal and system-related factors that facilitated their interaction with students in the online learning environment. On the other hand, they stated that student-to-student interaction was limited in online teaching, which poses a challenge for instructors. Additionally, assessment was one of the challenges of online teaching as well as internet loss, lack of interaction. They also stated that online teaching provided flexibility and wide range of resources as well as saving time. This study highlighted the importance of evaluating and enhancing online teaching practices to ensure instructors' satisfaction.

Learning motivation is one of the important factors that ensure the success of language acquisition. Although numerous studies has been done on students' learning motivation, little is known about online learning motivation. Hence, this quantitative study aims to explore students' online learning motivation when learning a language through Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). Data were collected using a survey of 5-point Likert scale given to learners studying languages in a Malaysian public university. The survey consisted of four sections. Section A has 2 items on demographic profile. Section B has 12 items on behavior. Section C has 14 items on personal factors. Section D has 12 items on environmental factors. The respondents were 108 diploma and bachelor degree students. Data analysis was done using SPSS. The findings showed that SCT has a positive impact on students' online learning motivation. All three elements of SCT which are behaviour, personal factors and environmental factors were significant in promoting students' online learning motivation for language learning. Moreover, there are also a strong positive relationship between behaviour and personal factors, a moderate positive relationship between behaviour and environmental factors, and a moderate positive relationship between environmental and personal factors. These findings established that SCT has an important role in cultivating online learning motivation in a language classroom. Teachers can also design their teaching and learning process based on SCT as it is proven to promote students' online learning motivation. Therefore, future studies on SCT can be beneficial towards students' online learning motivation.

has compelled the governments of the United States, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam to implement a variety of policies in order to break the transmission. Distance learning is one of the initiatives implemented. The goal of this study is to learn about distance learning implementation systems in the United States, China, Indonesia, and Vietnam during COVID-19. A systematic literature review was utilized as the research approach, and 44 publications were reviewed. According to the findings, students in these nations use a variety of devices in distance learning activities. To communicate with students, the distance learning implementation employs a video conferencing application as well as supporting services such as Google Teams, Facebook, and WhatsApp. The teacher instructs students via virtual classes. Students are unsatisfied and less participate distance learning. Students from various countries report difficulties accessing the internet, a lack of social relationships between teachers and students, and socioeconomic gaps.
