Conventional vs. pedestal high-contrast grating for biosensing

Abstract: We present a comparative study of novel pedestal and conventional high-contrast grating (HCG) structures for biosensing applications. The pedestal grating demonstrates superior performance both in bulk refractive index (BRIS) and surface sensing.
