Cordoma de la columna lumbar simulando una hernia discal secuestrada

Abstract

Los cordomas son tumores raros y de lento crecimiento. Se cree que surgen de los vestigios de las células notocordales. La notocorda representa el origen embriológico del esqueleto axial. Puede existir extrusión de este vestigio ocasionando localizaciones aberrantes de restos de la notocorda que pueden persistir a lo largo del eje craneoespinal. La extrusión dentro del espacio extradural o intradural permitirá el crecimiento sin inclusión ósea. Presentamos un caso raro de un cordoma extraóseo extradural en un paciente masculino de 65 años de edad con presentación clínica de radiculopatía y en la RM de columna lumbosacra una imagen sugestiva de hernia de disco secuestrada, el reporte de histopatología fue de cordoma clásico.
