Correlated coherent states and propagation of arbitrary Gaussian beams in longitudinally homogeneous quadratic media exhibiting absorption or amplification

Abstract: The rates of decay, both radiative and non-radiative, have been calculated for the valence shake-up states [vp'lnl of Ne ( u = 2 ) and Ar (U=,). The only possible non-radiative decay mode is the valence-multiplet participator Auger transition: [up'] (LS)nl+[vp'](L'S)+e~, where energy far ionization i s gained through the multiplet change LS to L'S' The corresponding Auger energy is at most a few eV. For many of the initial states considered this channel is not allowed and the decay proceeds exclusively through… Show more

“…However, the resulting expressions do not include the revival effect. In [65,66], the correct expressions for the beam trajectories and widths are obtained, which contain the long-term period oscillations of the beam trajectory and its width. In [67], the revival effect in GRIN media was considered up to a second-order approximation.…”

“…The dynamics of Gaussian wavepackets possessing nonzero correlation coefficients was studied in [20]. Gaussian correlated packets were used in the analysis of many physical problems, from the wave propagation in optical waveguides [21] and random media [22] to the neutron interferometry [23], cosmology [24] and quantum optics [12,25]. Detailed studies of properties and dynamics of correlated and squeezed coherent states in arbitrary timedependent harmonic potentials were performed in [9,10,[26][27][28][29].…”

“…It was shown, that the coherent properties of light can be controlled with the help of variation of the laws of longitudinal inhomogeneity. Quantumtheoretical methods were applied also for investigation of the effects of nonparaxiality [83][84][85][86][87] and depolarization [88][89][90] of radiation in graded-index media. In [85] the nonparaxial focusing of wave beams in a graded-index medium was studied.…”
