Correlations of Circadian Rhythm Disorder of Blood Pressure with Arrhythmia and Target Organ Damage in Hypertensive Patients

Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlations of circadian rhythm disorder of blood pressure with arrhythmia and target organ damage in hypertensive patients. Material/Methods: A total of 198 patients admitted and treated in our hospital from May 2018 to April 2019 were selected to receive 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. The nighttime blood pressure decrease rate is 0-10% in people with normal circadian rhythm of blood pressure. In the present study, we divided patients into a normal cir… Show more

“…The latter increases the risk of stroke, renal dysfunction, and left ventricular hypertrophy and aggravates the damage to the cardiovascular system, kidney, and other organs. [ 10 ] Therefore, some researchers have proposed the organic integration of hypertension treatment plans with the circadian rhythm of blood pressure fluctuation4. By adjusting the treatment timing, correcting the abnormal blood pressure circadian rhythm, and considering the antihypertensive effects, the objective is to attenuate target organ damage and effectively prevent and treat associated diseases.…”

“…DBPF was related to the risk of in-hospital death, and a negative correlation was obvious below 0%. Healthy people exhibit obvious circadian rhythms in the blood pressure 22 , with the blood pressure being higher during the daytime and lower at night. This is related to circadian rhythm changes of the sympathetic nerve and vagus nerve, as well as regulation of the body fluid hormone secretion rhythm in the human body.…”

“…Compared with the normal circadian rhythm, the prevalence of cardiocerebrovascular and kidney disease in the circadian rhythm disorder group was significantly higher, and the left ventricular hypertrophy index and creatinine clearance rate were significantly reduced. 84 In this review, we discuss the interaction between circadian rhythms and common cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension, obesity, and diabetes. In addition, we have systematically analyzed the causes and status of the diseases in the case of circadian rhythm disorders, as well as how to use the circadian rhythm to better prevent and intervene in the disease.…”

“…Furthermore, circadian rhythm disorder of blood pressure induces left ventricular hypertrophy and left atrial enlargement. 84 Circadian misalignment between the internal and external environments abnormally regulates blood pressure. One manifestation is that light-at-night exposure causes circadian rhythm disorder, resulting in increased nighttime blood pressure in elderly individuals.…”
