Cortisol palmitate liposomes: Enhanced anti-inflammatory effect in rats compared with free cortisol

Abstract: Liposomes containing eortisol palmitate showed greater antl-inflammatory activity than water soluble eortisol sueclnate, following intravenous injection into rats, as assessed by inhibition of (a) earrageenan-indueed paw swelling, and (b) inflammatory responses in subcutaneous sponge implants impregnated with heat-killed Myeobacterium tuberculosis.
