Cost-aware caching schemes in heterogeneous storage systems

Abstract: Modern single-and multi-processor computer systems incorporate, either directly or through a LAN, a number of storage devices with diverse performance characteristics. These storage devices have to deal with workloads with unpredictable burstiness.
