This result is contrary to what was obtained by Ibrahim et al (2008) in a study of rice farmers in Badegi, Niger State where they observed that 69.7% of the respondents were below 50 years of age and Hassan (2010) reported that only 22.4%of the respondents were above 50 years of age. In the same vein, Adegboye (2011) discovered that only 14.7% of rice farmers in Kwara State were older than 50 years and also in a study of ginger farmers in Kaduna State noted that only 20.0% of the respondents were above 50 years of age.…”
