It is well known that the Covid-19 that hit the world caused a global economic crisis. This present study aimed at examining the economic impact of this crisis with respect to families with both quantitative and qualitative approaches. In this study, we intended to demonstrate how families (n=247) met their basic needs, how they coped with financial stress, how financial stress relates to family characteristics and how it affects marital, family, and life satisfaction. The impact of family characteristics on financial stress was examined through regression analysis. The impact of financial stress on marital, family, and life satisfaction was determined through content analysis. The results of the regression analysis showed that the influence of education, debt, minimum wage employment, and fear of being laid off on financial stress was significant. The qualitative results show that individuals' marital, family and life satisfaction were negatively affected due to the financial stress they experienced during the Covid-19.

The number of studies conducted on the family, which has great importance in the life of the individual and society, is increasing. The need for studies on the establishment, continuity, and protection of the family has increased with the rapid change in family structure and the increasing divorce rates in recent years. Family therapy helps family members to deal with and solve their problems with a holistic perspective. The present study aimed to uncover the effectiveness of Spiritually-directed Family Counseling in complex family problems. Developed by Kılınçer, the “Family Therapy Model Using Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy with the Focus on Spiritual Practices of Islam” is a semi-structured model created by integrating the spiritual-religious sources in Islam with Satir transformational systemic therapy. The study was conducted in 11 sessions with a nuclear family with one child who applied with complex problems such as infidelity, bipolar disorder, cancer, childhood traumas, relationship problems, porn addiction, violence, and suicide attempt. As a result of the therapy, it was found that spirituality-directed family counseling can lead to changes in the family at the first level (less fighting, less anger, calmness, etc.) and at the second level (for the couple to forgive and understand each other internally, opening up more space for each other’s feelings, expectations and longings, etc.).

Kasım 2019’da Çin’in Wuhan kentinde ortaya çıkan ve günümüze kadar etkilerini sürdüren Covid-19 insan hayatında birçok değişiklik meydana getirmiştir. Covid-19 hayatımıza girene kadar var olan alışkanlıklarınız ve ihtiyaçlarımız bu süreçte değişime uğramıştır. Çocuk gelişimi öğrencilerinin Covid-19 sürecinde insan ihtiyaçlarındaki değişime yönelik görüşlerini incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgu bilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde bir devlet üniversitesinde önlisans öğrenimlerine devam eden 30 çocuk gelişimi öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama süreci sonunda elde edilen veriler "içerik analizi" tekniği ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda çocuk gelişimi öğrencilerinin görüşlerine göre Covid-19 sürecinde insanların güvenlik ihtiyaçları ön plana çıkmasıyla birlikte virüsün bulaşma riski sebebiyle insanların birbirlerine sevgilerini göstermede yetersiz kaldıklarını ifade ederek sevgi ihtiyacının tam olarak karşılanmadığını belirtmişlerdir.
