Creating a Single-Visit, Fibre-Reinforced, Composite Resin Bridge by Using a Natural Tooth Pontic: A Viable Alternative to a PFM Bridge

Abstract: Background: The rehabilitation of an anterior tooth space presents a confronting situation. Several modalities are presently available to address the challenge of an immediate replacement of a missing anterior tooth. These include a removable temporary acrylic prosthesis or resin-bonded bridges. Fibre-Reinforced Composite (FRC) bridges are preferable if they are fixed and if a cost-effective tooth replacement is desired. Also, they provide an aesthetic and a conservative treatment choice as the abutment teeth … Show more

“…2 Fiber-reinforced composite, made up of glass fibers, is the only existing esthetically acceptable material, which can be processed directly in the mouth to form the framework of a bridge, simultaneously adhering to the adjacent teeth with adequate strength to withstand the masticatory forces. Ever Stick™, an FRC material, is made from unidirectional glass fibers and a polymer/resin gel matrix.…”

“…Autologous platelet concentrates are claimed to enhance hard and soft tissue healing due to the considerable amount of growth factors that are released after application in the surgical site [6]. This article describes the clinically replicable technique of socket preservation using platelet rich fibrin (PRF) followed by immediate tooth replacement utilizing the extracted natural tooth as pontic (NTP) to assist the clinicians in providing an esthetically acceptable treatment option.…”

“…Dental materyal teknolojisindeki gelişmeler minimal invaziv restorasyonları daha uygulanabilir, estetik ve hızlı hale getirmektedir. Cam fiberle güçlendirilmiş kompozitler (CFGK) kullanılarak minimal diş preparasyonu ile tek seansta bitirilen köprüler bu restorasyonlara örnektir [1][2][3] . Fiber bağlantı materyalleri, rezin matriks içerisinde fiber içeren ve kullanım yelpazesi oldukça geniş olan materyallerdir.…”
