Pirmajame disertacijos skyriuje analizuojama statybos kaip ūkio šakos ir statybos kaip verslo srities sampratos. Apibendrinami atlikti patirties statybos versle bendro ekonominio nuosmukio aplinkoje moksliniai tyrinėjimai, nagrinėjami reagavimo į sudėtingą ekonominę aplinką būdai.Antrajame skyriuje nagrinėjama statybos projekto įgyvendinimo ekonominio nuosmukio aplinkoje modelio koncepcija. Aptariamas valstybės politikos vaidmuo statybos ekonomikai Lietuvoje ir užsienyje. Pateikiamas ir detaliai analizuojamas statybos, esant bendriems ekonomikos sunkumams, koncepcinis modelis, nagrinėjami modelį sudarantys elementai, nagrinėjami statybos projektą įtakojantys veiksniai, mikro-, mezo-ir makroaplinka, jos įtaka, rinkos charakteristikos, praktinės modelio realizavimo galimybės.Trečiajame skyriuje atliekamas statybos projekto ekonominio nuosmukio aplinkoje variantinis projektavimas ir daugiakriterinė analizė. Sprendžiami praktiniai uždaviniai naudojant pasiūlytą modelį.Ketvirtajame skyriuje pateikiama rekomendacinė statybos ekonominio nuosmukio aplinkoje sistema. Šiame skyriuje detaliai aprašytos sistemos sudedamosios dalys: vartotojo sąsaja, duomenų bazės modulį sudarančios duomenų bazės ir modelių bazę sudarantys modeliai. Aiškinamas sistemos veikimo principas, pateikiami išspręsti praktiniai uždaviniai.Pagrindiniai disertacinio darbo teiginiai buvo paskelbti 5 mokslinėse publikacijose ir aptarti tarptautiniame koliokviume (The 12th German-Lithuanian-

College students' attrition in engineering programs is a major problem in developed and developing countries. Outreach activities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are a powerful resource to ignite K-12 students' interest to pursue scientific and engineering careers. Here, a program on mechatronics for Malaysian high-schoolers developed at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering and implemented at the National University of Malaysia is presented. The program follows a dual model where instructors and students work together on a project-based learning curriculum inspired by real-world problems. A group of Malaysian graduate students and highschool teachers was trained to serve as instructors by the New York University team. Traditional instruction and information delivery methods, as well as memorization are still largely considered the cornerstones of STEM education. Meanwhile, a growing number of students exhibits strong tendency toward technology-based student-centered learning. It is thus imperative that if instructors do not keep up with the pace of technology, soon they will not be able to properly teach students how to effectively work in collaborative and invigorating settings. This paper reports on the findings of an ongoing research that aims at incorporating mobile context-aware visual simulation into STEM education. So far, the authors have used construction and civil engineering as a test bed and developed a mobile augmented reality (AR) visualization platform that allows students to: (1) enhance the contents of their textbooks with computer-generated virtual multimedia and graphics, and (2) interact with context-aware simulated animations. The developed methods have been successfully tested in classroomscale experiments using real student populations.
