Abstract: Background: Osteopetrosis represents a rare genetic disease with a wide range of clinical and genetic heterogeneity, which results from osteoclast failure. Although up to 10 genes have been identified to be related with osteopetrosis, the pathogenesis of osteopetrosis remains foggy.
